“Jiaozi” is one of our favorite traditional Chinese dishes. We have added Truffle Oil to the recipe to make it even better.

Ingredients

FRESH FROM THE STORE

  • 1/2 pound Ground Pork
  • 1/2 Leek
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/4 cup Ginger
  • 4 small Carrots
  • 1 Egg

FROM YOUR PANTRY

  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 4 tbsp Tamari Sauce
  • 40 Dumpling Wrappers
  • 1/4 cup Sesame Oil
  • 5 tbsp Truffle Oil

Instructions

Step 1

Cut vegetables into very small cubes. Then mix ground pork, leeks, ginger, tamari sauce, egg, sesame oil, carrots, 4 tablespoons of the chicken broth and truffle oil in a bowl.

Step 2

Fill a small bowl with water. Place dumpling wrapper in one hand. With your other hand, moisten the edges of it with water. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Fold wrapper in half to get a triangular shape. Then seal it. Repeat until the ground-pork-mix is finished.

Step 3

Heat up the remaining chicken broth in a wok or pan. Place wrappers, add cover and let simmer at medium heat for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Heat up sesame oil in a pan. Place steamed dumplings and fry for a few minutes on each side on high heat until they turn crispy. (optional)

Step 5

Serve with tamari sauce or vinegar. Sprinkle fresh chives on top if desired.

Enjoy!
