Ingredients

FRESH FROM THE STORE

  • 1/2 pd Potatoes
  • 1 pd Octopus
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic

FROM YOUR PANTRY

  • 4 tbsp Extra-virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse octopus under cool water. Then cut it into 1/2″ thick slices.

Step 2

Peel potatoes with a paring knife or a peeler. Then cut potatoes into 1/4″ thick slices.

Step 3

Heat up 3 cups of water in a pot. When it starts boiling, place the potato slices and cook them at low to medium heat for about 15 minutes. Check with a sharp knife if they are fully cooked through. Then remove them from the heat and drain.

Step 4

Heat up 1/3 of the olive oil in a pan. Add diced garlic and octopus slices. Turn heat to high. Sauté octopus slices on each side for about 2 minutes. Then remove from heat.

Step 5

Divide portions in two. Place potato slices on a plate. Top them with octopus slices, add garlic-infused olive oil from the pan. Add the remaining non-cooked olive oil. Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne pepper on top.
