Som Kesa was born and raised in Bangkok to a foodie family. At young age, she was exposed to a variety of foods and cooking. Som has vivid memories of playing restaurateur/street vendor with her siblings and cousins, as well as helping her mother in the kitchen, where she started her journey to master Thai cooking.
Unlike the Thai food you get at restaurants in the US, Som’s food is authentic and she is passionate to share secrets of how to cook the food she ate growing up in Thailand.
In her Cooktour, she will teach you how to prepare traditional Thai food at your home, finding authentic Thai ingredients in the US and basic Thai cooking techniques. She will also share with you insights about Thai culture and travel tips when you go to Thailand.
Som is one of the most influential Thai Cooks in Seattle. She owns a catering business which also provides cooking classes. In 2015 she was named one of five Foodie Empire Honorees
